Sailing in Kefalonia:

Frequently asked questions

I've never sailed before; what should I expect?

A sailing holiday is, above all, a way to reconnect with nature, find peace, and rediscover ourselves.

Those who choose this type of vacation seek to unplug, relax, and recharge—and that’s exactly what a sailing boat offers.

The journey itself is an experience, both personally and socially. Each day brings the opportunity to explore new destinations, each with its own unique history, culture, landscapes, and local cuisine to enjoy.

How much does it cost?

The cost varies depending on the type of trip you are booking and the time you wish to sail. Please fill out the booking form, and we will get back to you within 24 hours with a quote.

How can I contact you?

The best way to contact us is via the booking form; you can also contact us directly via email at kefaloniablu@gmail.com

Where can I learn more about you?

Find us online on Facebook and Instagram: we post alongside our sister company "Orient Sailing," and you can explore many pictures and reels from our previous trips!

What if I am sea sick?

First and foremost, don’t worry—we won’t be encountering ocean waves!

However, if you’re concerned about potential seasickness, we recommend using fabric motion sickness bracelets, which can be purchased at pharmacies and should be worn 12 hours before sailing. Alternatively, medicated patches are available and should be applied behind the ear two hours before boarding. Anti-nausea bracelets and chewing gum formulations can also help and should be used at the first signs of discomfort.

That said, it’s always best to consult your doctor for personalized advice!

What if the weather is bad?

In Greece, it is really difficult to come across rainy days during the summer. However, safety always comes first, and in case of bad/windy weather, we may need to cancel a trip.

If you are booked on a day trip/evening cruise, the staff will do their best to reschedule your outing. If you cannot sail with us on a different day, we will refund the fee.

If you booked a weekly cruise, the staff will organize for you fascinating excursions on land, such as a visit to Lake Melissani in Kefalonia or to the Cave of Drogarati, rather than pleasant visits to the charming villages that we will meet on our itinerary. It is very unlikely to have more than one day of bad weather during the summer months!

What if my plans change, or I simply change my mind?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds if your plans change, as we plan our trips in advance based on participants.

We suggest that you book personal travel insurance for the length of your trip and double check what the insurance does or doesn't cover.
